We're Caitlin and Mads, plus three kids: a 10-year-old boy, an 8-year-old boy, and a 5-year-old girl who runs the house whether we like it or not. A few years ago we remodeled our house and moved Caitlin's mom in with us, so it's six people now, three generations, one kitchen. This site is where we write down what we've learned raising the kids and building a home around all of us — the systems that stuck, the ones that didn't, and everything in between.

Everything here has been run in our own kitchen and hallway for at least a few weeks. When something failed, we say so. When we do not know, we say that too.

We keep the posts light and to the point, but honest. No fast-paced-world intros, no forced pep talks — just what worked for us, written the way we'd tell a friend. If it makes your Tuesday a little easier, that's the whole point.
